Capabilities used

  • Figma-to-Shopify development
  • Shopify Liquid and JavaScript
  • Custom six-bottle case builder
  • Shopify Cart API and AJAX
  • Custom cart drawer
  • Geolocation controls
  • Interactive vineyard map
  • Responsive storefront development

01 · The challenge

What problem was the Shopify store solving?

The project required more than applying a new visual layer to a Shopify theme. The supplied Figma experience had to become a responsive storefront while several buying interactions went beyond standard theme behavior.

Customers needed to choose several wines, build a six-bottle case, add the complete selection to the cart, and review each item clearly. The storefront also needed location-aware purchase controls, an interactive vineyard map, and an age restriction step appropriate for wine ecommerce.

04 · The approach

How the custom buying flow was engineered

I translated the supplied Figma layouts into reusable Shopify interfaces using Liquid, JavaScript, AJAX, and responsive front-end styling. I treated the wine case as a guided purchasing system rather than a fixed bundle.

  • Coordinated selected product variants through Shopify's Cart API.
  • Added the completed six-bottle selection to the cart in one action.
  • Kept every wine visible and manageable inside a custom AJAX cart drawer.
  • Applied location rules to purchasing controls.
  • Built an interactive map that reveals vineyard information on hover.
  • Implemented an age restriction flow and responsive storefront behavior.

05 · Shopify delivery

What I delivered across the Shopify journey

  • Responsive Figma-to-Shopify theme implementation.
  • Custom six-slot wine case builder.
  • Multi-product add-to-cart behavior using JavaScript, AJAX, and Shopify's Cart API.
  • Custom cart drawer with line-item visibility and quantity controls.
  • Location-aware purchasing controls.
  • Interactive vineyard map.
  • Age restriction entry flow.
  • Desktop and mobile navigation, collection, product, and cart delivery.

06 · Evidence-led outcome

What the delivered functionality enables

The delivered storefront lets customers assemble a mixed six-bottle wine case and add the selected products to Shopify in one action. The custom cart drawer keeps the case contents visible and manageable, while location rules, the interactive map, age restriction, and responsive layouts support the broader buying journey.

No verified revenue, conversion, or performance metrics were supplied, so this case study reports functional outcomes only.

Case study FAQ

Questions a buyer may ask

What custom Shopify functionality did you build?

I built the six-bottle case builder, multi-product Cart API flow, AJAX cart drawer, geolocation controls, interactive vineyard map, age restriction flow, and supporting responsive theme interfaces.

Was the visual design supplied?

Yes. The Figma designs were supplied, and my role was to translate them into responsive Shopify theme code and implement the required custom functionality.

Did you use a fixed bundle product?

No. The case builder coordinates selected Shopify variants and adds the individual wines to the cart together.

Can you claim a conversion or revenue increase?

No. Commercial analytics were not supplied, so this case study reports verified implementation and functional outcomes only.

Can similar custom buying flows be built for other Shopify stores?

Yes. The same engineering approach can support mix-and-match bundles, guided kits, multi-product sets, and other purchasing journeys that do not fit a standard theme component.

Need a similar Shopify outcome?

Build the buying flow your products actually need.
